Maasai Market Visit
No safari experience is complete without taking home a meaningful keepsake, and the Maasai Market is the perfect place to do just that. This vibrant open-air market showcases a wide variety of authentic Kenyan handicrafts, including hand-beaded jewelry, carved artifacts, woven baskets, textiles, leather goods, handbags, clothing, shoes made from African fabrics, and decorative utensils.
The market takes its name from the Maasai people, one of Kenya’s most well-known tribes, celebrated for their rich culture, strong traditions, and exceptional craftsmanship. Historically, Maasai artisans created these handmade items for personal use and cultural expression. As tourism grew and visitors showed interest in their work, the artisans began producing pieces for trade, bringing them into Nairobi to meet demand—giving rise to what is now known as the Maasai Market.
Please note that the Maasai Market operates on specific days and rotating locations throughout Nairobi, depending on the season, as it is not permanently set in one location.
Lunch will be enjoyed at the world-famous Carnivore Restaurant, renowned for its unique dining experience.
Giraffe Centre Visit
The Giraffe Centre is a conservation and breeding sanctuary dedicated to the protection of the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Located approximately 20 kilometers from Nairobi’s city center, this unique center offers guests the unforgettable opportunity to observe and feed these majestic giraffes from a raised viewing platform.
The Centre has played a vital role in the successful breeding and reintroduction of Rothschild giraffes into Kenya’s national parks, contributing significantly to the preservation of the species. In addition to giraffes, the sanctuary is also home to a number of warthogs, which freely roam the grounds alongside the giraffes, adding to the charm of the experience.
